Thursday, March 3, 2011 Hey guys! How time flies, it's actually MARCH already! And this is gonna be the month that our church is making history. WE ARE MOVING TO SUNTEC ON THE 19TH MARCH!! *Goes round jumping around and praising God!* Make sure that you actually bring friends for our VERY FIRST Suntec service okay! Oh and not forgetting our CGM are actually on FRIDAY nights now! Wheehoo! I, personally, am really very very very happy that it's on Fri night now because I now have my Sun free! HEH! So................. 26-27 Feb weekend marks the very last service at Expo for us! And I don't know about you, but it was really a celebration for me because it means that we are REALLY very near to moving in to Suntec! I still remembered that I was there for the very first Expo service 5 years back and now after 5 years (time really flies!), we are ready for a bigger place! God is good don't you agree? I am here to make this page alive once again! It's 2011, and Jan is gonna end really soon. (The last post was posted in DEC 2010!!!!!) But anyways, I hope you're doing well in your school and workplace! It has been good to be able to see you guys last weekend because I haven't seen you guys for like 2 weeks! And I miss every single one terribly! OH! And yesterday (Sun) was the first cgm of year 2011! Thank you PINDE (best member of 2010!) for cooking for us! :D So I was watching the sermon online. And was watching the one where Pastor Kong preached about Counting Your Stars. Man... It was TREMENDOUSLY GOOD! I am so blessed and it was so very in season for myself and I believe for the church as well! Let me share with you some stuff that I've caught while I was watching. (Even though I was watching thru the com, the presence of God was so tangible!) When we live OUTSIDE the tent, we will be limitless. We will believe, speak, talk, think like how GOD does! So we gotta STEP OUT of limitations and move into the realm of the FOURTH DIMENSIONS, where NOTHING is impossible! And something I've caught just before Pastor Kong ended the service.. He spoke about world shakers and history makers. And it occurred to me that world shakers and history makers didn't come easily and they weren't just born yesterday. But they were the ones who tirelessly believe in God, counting their stars that are in heaven and clinging on to the very promise that God said that they can do it despite the world say that they can't. But while hanging on to the promise, God answered, God responded, just like how He gave Abraham Isaac after 15 years of counting and resisting the temptations of not returning to the tent, a place of limitations. Always remember that world shakers and history makers aren't born yesterday, they are the ones who plow through, counted their stars and clung on. And that's how they became world shakers and history makers. Like what Rae has shared with us last week during cgm, we are to have audacious goals for 2011. What are your audacious goals and what are the star of promise for it? THE BIBLE HAS 8810 PROMISES OF GOD FOR US! So let's have the SMASHING FAITH to believe that God can do it for us!! JUST WANNA WISH EVERYONE MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEARS! Thank you for working hard to invite friends for the Christmas services! Let's really pray that they will really stay okay! It's December and many many things have happened! It was REAL Conference from the 15th to 17th Dec. I had a blast and I hope that you guys had lots of fun too! But on top of having fun during the games, I pray with all my heart that you've caught something that will help you to want to want to continue this walk with God! Even though REAL has ended, but this is not the end. It's only the beginning of the new chapter of our lives. W459, let the journey with God and the Holy Spirit unfolds as we move on to 2011 yeah? It was Kit's farewell at the airport:'( Dearest Kit, if you're reading this, W459 just wants you to know that we misses you a lot a lot and we're always gonna keep you in prayer! We know that it's difficult for you to leave everything behind and move to a foreign country. But we are believing together that God is gonna do something awesome for you and that His destiny for you will still continue to unfold in your life. Hang in there Kito! We know and we know that you're small on the outside, but you're HUGE on the inside! You'll be able to overcome and enjoy Canada! Meanwhile, do come back as often as you can yeah? W459 loves you heaps! It was Christmas! And I'm just so thankful for every single one of you! Thankful that God sent Jesus for every single one of us. The ecp outing is this Sunday!! I'm really very excited about it because it's gonna be super EXCITING and FUN! So do come excited yeah! And there's no cgm meeting this week so do take note! Things to take note: Meeting time: 11AM Meeting place: Bedok MRT control station I/C for meeting: Daniel, Joseph and Bryan Things to bring: 1. Money! *There'll be free and easy time. So if you wanna cycle, do bring money to rent a bike. The rental price is approximately $7-10/h. So do bring enough if you wanna cycle yeah. And we'll be having late lunch/early dinner after the outing. So yup! 2. Sunblock/ tan lotion Depends on what colour you want your skin to be! Just bring accordingly! 3. Water bottle Advised to bring 1.5L kind. We will be spending hours under the sun! 4. Camera If you have, do bring yeah! So that we can all snap lots of pictures and post it up on FB. 5. Extra set of clothes We're going to ecp. So chances of getting wet is definitely 100%! So please bring extra set of clothes and that would include inner wear and outer wear! We don't want you to catch a cold! 6. Toiletries Especially facial wash! Hee! Won't elaborate much. Just bring okay! 7. Bring whatever you wanna do during free and easy time! As mentioned above, there'll be a free and easy time after 2.45PM. So just bring whatever you wanna do during that time! Bring your kite, volleyball, frisbee etc yeah! With lots of love, Jasmin 10:31 PM Friday, August 6, 2010 Hello guys! I am here to blog after oh so long :D How did you guys feel about the 21st annivesary? Cause i felt really happy! We're 21 now! A big milestone for all of us! As we are 21 now, we know that greater challenges will await us. Faith: Do you still have faith in God? Of course you do! Faith is the susbstance that God looks for. Its the evidence that shows your growth and how much you trust him. What is faith? Let me show you. You believe in Jesus when you have never seen him. You tell him all of your troubles, and trust that he will take care of it. You give him your life, for him to change you. If i were to tell you to do these 3 things today, to a friend, would you do it? It will sound a little crazy right? But why do we still do these 3 things for Jesus? Because of faith. A man of great faith can walk on water. So lets all try to achieve walking on water :D Hope: It gives us life. Hope is the fuel that drives us forward. Hoping for the best for our church through this crisis. Hoping that every day, would be a greater day. Hope, is a vision. What if you do not have hope? Then i can tell you that that near impossible. Why? Because God is hope. When you lose hope, he place hope in you. If God is hope, then as his people, we are the 'hopers'. The people who carry his hope. Love: Our theme this year, is all about love. City Harvest is a 110% loving church. What more prove can you get than the very scene at our 21st annivesary. When Pastor Kong came up on stage. The overwhelming love can be felt so tremendously. Pastor was so touched! In such a crisis now, instead of having lesser people coming for services, more people came. If you noticed, after the crisis emerged, our church has been jam packed from front to back. Because we come to church to love God. And we love our Pastor Kong so much! The cross talks about love God wholeheartedly and love people fervently. Love is what keeps the church together in unity. Love is what keeps people together. Love is what makes people stay. God is love. God is not grudge, he is not hate and he is definitely not unforgiveness. So do we want to be like God? Yes we do! Jesus is our role model! We follow in his footsteps everyday. If love is our theme this year, lets continue to practice it. Lets not all be complacent. One last thing i want to say is. ~Thank you W459 for being the loving family I always needed and wanted! Service and CGM is on this week! So do come prepared with an open heart and receive as much as you can yeah! And do note that this week for CGM, instead of our normal CGM, we'll be having a prayer meeting. So do pray and charged up and come ready to pray up a storm and stand in the gap for the church, for the CG. 2. Festival of Praise (FOP) & 21st anniversary Guys, do take note that FOP & church's 21st anniversary will be on the same weekend. Do take note of the following timings and let your respective connect group leaders know which day and session are you attending yeah. Thanks a lot! FOP 30th to 31st July, Fri-Sat 7.30pm Singapore Indoor Stadium 21st Anniversary 1st Aug 9am, 11am Singapore Indoor Stadium And also, do invite your friends to join us for 21st anniversary yeah! Let them experience the 21 glorious years that the church have been thru and show them how good God has been to our church yeah! 3. Continue to pray for Pastor Kong, Tan, Sun and the leadership Do continue to keep them in prayers. I really really thank God for all these leaders that He've placed in my life because they've lay down their lives so that the rest that are coming can benefit. I believe that everyone of us who're in the cg can come and freely worship in the presence of God is because Pastor and the pioneers have laid down their lives 21years back so that each and everyone of us have the chance to come and know God even more personally. So let's not and never forget how much they have done and sacrificed for the church and maybe we may not be able to help much but I believe that the most we can do is to really pray and keep on praying for them. 4. Read your bible, do your quiet time, study hard! Read your bible everyday to feed your soul, to renew your mind. Do your quiet time to spend time in the presence of God. I am here to talk about what i caught from our fav pastor kong last sat!!! Pastor talk about 4 types of love. 1.storge(love of the family) It is a really important to have storge. It keep us with a family close and stay together no matter what happen. It is same to our physical family and ALSO our spiritual family!! In good time, we laugh together, have fun together but lets us also have storge love, lets keep going even when bad times come. That's what family do!:D P.S. I LOVE YOU CITY HARVEST IN BAD OR GOOD TIMES!! :D 2.Ero(love of passion) erm...nothing much to say about this..skip!! 3.phileo(love of friendship) This is a very powerful love!!In fact, in the bible, because jonathan love(phileo) david so much, he help david to escape from saul even if he risk his life!! The bible say "he(jonathan) loved him(david) as himself". let's us have phileo love for all our friends!! Cheers for friendship! :D 4.Agape(love of total commitment) This is the greatest love of all! It is a love that God have for us. It is so great that He is willing to die on the cross 2000 years ago for us!! So do invite your friends to join us for service this week yeah!! :D 2. Coming Sunday, we'll be having a special sports CG! Please take note that it's still CG day so don't arrange other plans during CG time yeah! And after that we'll all go down to Bugis together to get the awesome KOI! In case you don't know what is KOI, it's a bubble tea which is different from those that you get in SweetTalk etc. It's just very awesome! You gotta try it! ;) 3. New bible study classes are commencing next week. Those that are doing VL and above, classes will be held at Riverwalk on Wed at 7.30pm. Those that need to go for CIC, GS and CL, there're classes available after service. For more information on new bible study classes, do log on to our church website at http://chc.org.sg to check out! So far we've got Asher, Christina and Dylan going for FT1 and myself going for Going on to perfection. Do make an effort to keep your Wed nights free and go for bible study classes. Because I can really testify that it helps you to love the word of God more. 4. It's July already, so it means that half of 2010 have passed. Jia you in your studies and work even harder yeah! 5. Remember to read your bible and do your quiet time! Let's be faithful in the little things like seeking God and studying His word! 6. Continue to keep Pastor Kong, Tan, Sun and the church in prayer!
